Scorekeeper

This is still a beta version, so you may occasionally run into a bug or something that doesn’t behave quite as expected.
All data is stored locally in your browser. Your saved games remain available as long as you don’t delete your browsing data. Use Games → Tools → Backup and Restore to copy the whole library to another device or replace this one via a JSON file.
Your game is saved automatically as you enter scores. There is no Save button.
There are two limits: a maximum of 8 players/teams and a maximum of 25 rounds per game.
A game name is optional. Leave it blank and the Scorekeeper uses the player/team names as the title.
There are four fields for entering points in each round:
- Canastas: The total points for completed canastas, both red and black.
- Cards: The points for all individual cards played, whether they are in completed canastas or in the melds still on the table.
- Bonus: Usually only one player/team receives points here in a given round, since this is the bonus for going out.
- Deductions: Points for all unplayed cards, including your Foot when applicable. These points count against you. Usually everybody has deductions except the player or team that went out.
You can enter simple addition or subtraction calculations directly into any score field. For example, type 500+320+240-60 and the Scorekeeper will calculate 1,000 for you. Press Enter, Tab, an arrow key, or the equal sign (=) when you’re finished entering the calculation.
The Scorekeeper includes its own score-entry keypad on phone, tablet, and desktop. On tablet and desktop it can sit beside the current round; use In and Out to dock it or float it. You can drag it when it is out, Pin it, change its size, choose left or right of the score sheet, Minimize it temporarily, or Disable it to use your device’s regular keyboard instead.
The keypad arrow buttons follow the same paths as the keyboard: Down and Up move like Enter and Shift+Enter (down each player/team’s fields, then the next), and Right and Left move like Tab and Shift+Tab (across a row, then the next field). From the last cell they wrap to the first cell of the current round, and the other way around. The smaller caret controls move the cursor within the calculation you are entering.
For earlier rounds, choose Hidden, Summaries, or Expanded to control how much of the past sheet you see.
Under each round’s score table, Add a note opens a note for that round. When closed, you see Note: and the first line. Summaries shows a small mark when a round has a note.
Open Standings at any time to see the current ranking. On desktop and tablet, the Standings drawer can also be pinned open while you continue working.
Entering a target score is completely optional. If you provide one, the Scorekeeper shows it in the current round’s header, highlights who has reached it, and shows a one-time message the first time someone reaches or exceeds it. You can continue playing normally afterward. Changing the target can show that message again.
In Games → Tools you can open the UI text editor, clear saved names, Backup (it asks first), Restore, or reset the Scorekeeper on this device.
On a game card, More actions includes Edit, Duplicate, Export Excel, and Mark as completed. Completed games are read-only until you reopen them.
You can change the game name, player/team names, or target score at any time. Go to Games, find the game, and select More actions → Edit.

As always, your feedback is very appreciated, so don’t hesitate to contact me if you notice a bug or have suggestions for making the Scorekeeper better.
